Spending many hours following dolphins and whales in the wild, I find inspiration for many of my jewelry pieces when I am out on my research boat. This one of a kind necklace, for example, is inspired by wavelets at sunset. The piece, called “ondine e serpentina”, is handcrafted in bronze and reclaimed silver, and finished with a serpentine gemstone. The chain is made of oxidized silver.
How to create a cool look for the upcoming Summer? Just choose some unique jewelry designs handcrafted by artisans, and then mix and match metals and styles (with taste). The model in this picture is wearing one of Maddalena Bearzi limited edition cuffs. This “Terra oro” bracelet, hand-forged and hammered in brass, is two inches wide and makes a statement with any outfit.
Here are a few jewelry tips to look unique, fearless, elegant and stylish.
First, tell a story. What your necklace, bracelets and earrings say about you? What's your personal story? Second, think outside the (jewelry) box. Carefully, find pieces that are different and handcrafted. Third, don't be afraid to layer and stack... but be tasteful about. Forth, mix and match fine jewelry with non-precious metal and textile pieces to create texture (again, be graceful when you do so).
Out of the ordinary! Here are two jewelry pieces from a new and one-of-a-kind collection inspired by the ocean and my research at sea. “Relitto nero bucato” ring and “seppia” earrings are both handcrafted in reclaimed silver and gold.
